Chatter
I had a pretty stressful seek with work but more than made up for that with a lovely day yesterday.  Stitch Solihull which is the LYS I talked about a couple of Episodes ago have started sip and stitch gatherings and I was delighted when I learned there was to be a weekend one.  yesterday I went along and spent a glorious couple of hours sitting and knitting and chatting and met some lovely ladies and was made to feel very welcome.  Thank yo to the ladies there for your company and chatter and I hope to be going along as often as possible.

LOLS
The Birthday Pumpkin Socks are finished.  I finished these up yesterday while I was sitting and knitting with my new friends.  Pattern is the  Simple Skyp Socks by Adrienne Ku (free download on Ravelry) and I used the Scruffy Gnome Base which is fingering weight 85% Sw merino and 15% Donegal Tweed and this is the Pumpkin Spice Latte Colour from Gnomeacres.  Size 2.25mm needles, two circulars.

Nattering Away
I have also made good progress in the beatnik by Norah Gaughan (free pattern on Ravelry and Knitty.com).  I have just started the armhole shaping on the front, the back is complete.  This is a modified sizing to get to a 34" size.  I am using Rowan Pure Wool Aran on 5.00mm needles.  One of the purchases I made at Stitch Solihull yesterday were some Hiya Hiya sharp needles and one of the sizes I bought was the 5.00mm as I wanted to try them on this project, especially as I am cabling without a cable needle.  I love them! the needles are lighter that the Knit Pro Nova and everything just seems a tad easier. The cable swivelling in the casing is a massive positive or me as this prevents them coming unscrewed and getting stitches caught in the gap.  I think that I will gradually be making the change over.

Unfortunately there has been slow progress on the evenstar-shawl by Susan Pandorf ($8 pattern on ravelry).   The yarn is from CountessAblaze and is the BFL lace in Dusk Colourway.  I decided to give up on the dental floss as it was driving me nuts and I was not enjoying the process.  thankfully my replacement crochet hook has arrived, I went for a slightly larger size at 0.75mm and I am hoping that this will make the border more enjoyable again.

I haven't worked on Spring Shoots Socks from Socktopus by Alice Yu.

Whispering to me is in a state of flux as there is so much I want to cast on but one thing that is a definite are some vanilla socks out of the Opal yarn I purchased a couple of weeks ago as I do not have any portable projects on the needles.  These will be my standard 60 stitch on 2.25mm needles.

Speech Therapy
Other than the 5mm Hiya Hiya needle I aslo went for the 4mm and the 3.75mm and two cables to try out.

I also bought two skeins of Schoppel Zauberball int he same colourway,  blues and blacks as I specifically wanted these for In the Pink by IzzyKnits (free pattern on Ravelry) although I will probably get the Evenstar completed before I cast this on.

That's it for this week, I hope you all have a fantastic week and I'll see you next time

Bye Now
:)
